Sister Library Program

Bridgeville Public Library and Shawnee Tribe Cultural Center's Sister Library Program

In 2021 the Bridgeville Public Library reached out to the Shawnee Tribe Cultural Center about a potential partnership via a sister library program. They emphasized the desire of the Board of Directors of the BPL to partner with those who were on the land they now occupy prior to their residence, as they are in the Ohio Valley they reached out to the Cultural Center. STCC decided to move forward with this partnership in order to better share resources and provide direct links between the historic homeland of the Shawnee people as well as modern occupants of the land and the modern Shawnee people.

We hope this will be a lasting and enriching partnership to share history, culture and issues facing all of us. This page will serve as STCC's doorway into the programing and resources at BPL. We hope you enjoy this celebration with us and feel free to explore as much as you like through the videos, links and educator materials generously hosted by the Bridgeville Public Library.
